We are looking to hire a Medical Office Assistant with excellent organizational and administrative skills. Candidates are expected to be compassionate and discrete with superb time management and record-keeping skills.

To ensure success, candidate should be confident with fantastic communication and interpersonal skills that will contribute to the efficient day-to-day administration of the practice. Top candidates will work comfortably under pressure while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment and can effectively react to patient emergencies.

  • Greeting patients visiting the office, answering questions and helping them fill out forms.
  • Managing and updating patient records, obtaining external records as needed.
  • Answering phones, scheduling in house and outside appointments, answering inquiries and transferring calls as needed.
  • Processing co-pays and payments, obtaining prior insurance authorizations for procedures and medications.
  • May assist in a variety of medical procedures and tests to assist in the examination and treatment of patients, including but not limited to vital signs, procedures, and ECG’s. Assist in rooming and preparing patients for exams including chief complaint, vital signs, ECG, documents past medical history and initiates the medication reconciliation process.
  • Maintaining the reception area, office supplies and complete other duties as assigned
  • Safeguard patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • One-year medical office experience required.
  • High school diploma
  • Medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis knowledge
  • Computer and relevant software applications knowledege
  • General administrative and clerical procedures knowledge
  • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance required
